This work brings together essays responding to the call by German physicist and philosopher Carl Friedrich von Weizsãcker (1912-2007) for a world assembly of Christians for justice, peace and the preservation of creation. Entitled "Time is running out" this text has met with an unusually strong response from the public. Well-known politicians, scientists, legal scholars and theologians have expressed their views on it in a critical or affirmative manner. This volume reproduces these discussion contributions by Erhard Eppler, Kurt Biedenkopf, Klaus Michael Meyer-Abich and numerous others; Weizsäcker responds to the contributions in a statement.
