Three-volume set, each set measuring approximately 9" x 11", is bound in blue cloth, with gilt-lettered black spine label. Books and dust jacket are like new. Each book is preserved in cardboard slipcase.
This set contains the first three volumes of a planned eight-volume history of the art of the Holy Roman Empire by German art historian Wolfgang Braunfels (1911-1987). This signature work was published between 1979 and 1989, with the final two volumes of the eight never published. The first three volumes constitute the entirety of a section appearing under the title "Die Räume" (The Spaces).
