Volume, measuring approximately 6.5" x 9.75", is bound in dark blue cloth, with stamped gilt lettering in upper inside corner of front cover. Book displays shelfwear, with light soiling to covers and wear at top/bottom of spine cover. Binding is sound.  Plate of Geo. W. Wheelwright Paper Co., with penciled-in information, is affixed to blank preliminary page.Pages are clean and bright. Profusely illustrated with, portraits of the founders of the Harvard Lampoon Society, numerous cartoons and caricatures.
This rare work provides an early history of the undergraduate humor publication founded in 1876 by seven undergraduates at Harvard University.
