"The German occupants wanted to wipe out all traces of the mass murder of inhabitants of the Warsaw Ghetto. Hitler and Himmler demanded even that the very area of the Ghetto was (sic) razed to the ground. This task was performed with almost complete perfection. However Hitler's troops did not manage to fulfil the order completely. Some material traces of the former Ghetto were preserved, and this album is dedicated to them. We show the existing photographs, which depict those fragments of the Ghetto, which still may be found in today's Warsaw, on its streets and backyards. Photographs are accompanied by excerpts from memoirs, reports or later reminiscences concerning the presented places or situations. We would like our visitors to see a vivid picture of the history of the Warsaw Jews in the years 1939-1943 during a few hours' walk following the traces of the Ghetto" (Preface)
