Antique volumes, each measuring approximately 7.25" x 10.75", is bound in three-quarter red leather and red cloth-covered boards, with stamped gilt lettering and date of publication to spines, together with raised bands. Front and rear covers display gilt ruling. Books show mild rubbing to spines, at tips of outside corners of covers and at edges of covers. Bindings are firm, with gilt edges to text block and matching marbled endpapers. Pictorial bookplate is affixed to front pastedowns. The verso of plate after page 73 in third volume displays faint spotting, without leaving any trace on recto. Very mild foxing appears in lower outside corner of first index page of the same. Interiors are otherwise clean and bright. This work is illustrated with tissue-guarded frontispieces and engraved title pages. Complete with all called-for 181 engraved plates over the three volumes, including frontispiece plates, illustrating this attractive architectural study with chapters on Canterbury cathedral, St. Paul's Cathedral, Bristol Cathedral, Salisbury Cathedral and Oxford Cathedral among others.
